The MiFID Forum (originally the MiFID Joint Working Group) has been created by key financial sector standards bodies and associations (namely SIIA/FISD, FIX Protocol Ltd, ISITC Europe and TWIST) whose members are directly impacted by the EU Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID).
It includes a set of Subject Groups that work on specific aspects of the business and technology impacts of MiFID, and is a forum for open discussion, debate and information for all members of the supporting organisations.
As a supporting organisation, ISITC Europe publishes and provides an archive of presentations and papers produced by the MiFID Forum Subject Groups, which include:
- Real-time Market Data Subject Group
- Best Execution and Trading (BEaT) Subject Group
- Transaction Reporting & Cross-Jurisdiction Subject Group
- IT Subject Group
- Standards Subject Group
European Commission proposals for MiFID and MiFIR (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive/Regulation – known jointly as MiFID II) were issued in August 2011.
